Serves 6

Ingredients

1 Tbsp Butter
2 pounds Smithfield Breakfast Sausage, cooked and coarse crumbled (save 1 Tbsp grease)
2 Tbsp Flour, all-purpose
1 cup Milk, 1%, heated through
½ tsp Salt
1 tsp Fresh black pepper
2 Tbsp Half & Half

Directions

  1. In a sauce pan over medium high heat, add butter and 1 tablespoon of sausage grease, melt.
  2. Add crumbled Smithfield Breakfast Sausage followed by the all-purpose flour. Mix well.
  3. Slowly pour in heated milk while stirring - mixture should be lightly thickened.
  4. Add salt and fresh black pepper then fold in Half and Half.
  5. Pour mixture over freshly baked biscuits or blueberry buttermilk pancakes for a truly perfect Smithfield-style breakfast or brunch.
